California native Johnny Stieg joined the Shred Stixx team during the 2008 season. His addition brings another aggressive surf style rider that has his roots in ocean surfing. Here is the slaysh!Blog rider profile for Johnny:

Favorite place to wakesurf: Lake Nacimento
Favorite place to ocean surf: My Home break, the rock in Morro Bay.
Other sports: Wakesurfing, Surfing, Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Motocross, BMX, Downhill Mountain Bikes, Wakeboarding,
Surf versus Skim and why?: well, ocean surfing is where wake surfing’s roots
are, and I love ocean surfing. It doesn’t mater to me whether you can do
more tricks on one or the other, they are their own sports, and for me my
surfing background drags me away from skim style.
Biggest inspiration: watching other people blow up and do things never done
before or go bigger than ever. It inspires me to go out and try new things.
Favorite person to surf with: I think surfing with chase is my favorite.
When we surf together we just have fun and try new things and push
eachother.
Trick you are working on now: I would like to get a big spin down, and a
kick-flip will always be a trick of the future that I would like to master.
What do you think about the future of wakesurfing: wakesurfing is only just
beginning. With time and larger waves things are gunna get insane. It’s the
new wakeboard. And it is great for everyone to do.
Goals: my goals are to do well In some contests, but mainly to just have
fun. If you’re not having fun you shouldn’t be doing it!
Favorite Music: Oh wow, I listen to everything, but to pump me up for wake
surfing and all my sports Lil Wayne or any rap or regge gets the job done
haha.
