The Quiver Corner with Rider Johnny Stieg

Stieg and His Stixx
We have started a new segment here at the Tank and as we head into the 2010 season we will be sitting down with each of our Riders and their quiver. For the first installment of ‘The Quiver Corner” we caught up with Johnny Stieg, and here is a closer look at his quiver. From left to right.
1-Steve Brom/Clyde Beatty fish. Dimensions 5’3” x 21” x 2 ½” this is my little twin keel fish. I use this thing usually when its super small, or mushy. Normally when its to small to surf any regular short board and I don’t really like to long board too much so this thing is really fun when its small.
2- Channel islands proton, shaped by Al Merric. 6’1”x 18 3/8” x 2 3/16”. This is my board I use when the waves are a little more punchy or a little bigger. Really fun lil short board.
3- channel islands Tangent, shaped by al Merric. 6’ x 18 3/8” x 2 ¼”. This is my all around board, works good in big waves small waves mushy or punchy. Just the board I usually take when I make a run to the beach on an average day.
4- shred stixx comp 1. Dimensions are secret! It’s a 4’8” ill give you that much. This is my wake surf board, and its magic. I have had many others shaped but this is definitely my favorite, i’ve had it for like a year and a half or something almost 2 years. It’s a quad fin, super fast and responsive. Definitely the money maker…haha
