A Circus Mind: Nirvana
For the second slayshTank pick from A Circus Mind by Ryan Cox, we take look back at the beginning of grunge and the age of Nirvana.
Nirvana
In the highest happiness, I am overwhelmed by success
Expectations of a generation crushed me to death
I’m punching the clock as I wait to rock from behind the stage
I’d rather be a fuse, burning, ash gray, than to fade away
I am lucid and clear, recklessly engaged in my own fears
Are you taking notice, expose us, forget it, we’re shifting gears
As scents grow in my nose, I recognize the adolescent souls
It’s American rock n roll, looking on, I said oh baby me gotta go
Relent, I don’t need your consent, its okay, its okay, I’ll repent
In confinement, I’m deviant; I’m a slave to your pale red magnet
Without dimension or perception, I’ve got her under my protection
I can see clearly under Heaven’s extensions, life’s creative organs
I am asking who I am; in the heat I know we’re all one
Without thinking about what’s become, I’m wrestling with love
The long black barrel of a shotgun resides on my tongue
Freedom from pain and care, freedom stardom oblivion
