Central Texas’s 13th Annual Community Wide Wake Event at Texas Ski Ranch

Waketoberfest is brand new this year with a very exciting new venue!  Canyon Lake and Texas Ski Ranch will be our site for this community wide event.  In having this venue, TSR has given Waketoberfest the ability to increase the number of competitive and social events.  This unrivaled partnership offers an extraordinary opportunity for wake enthusiasts and local/nationwide sponsors to get stoked and get involved!
If you aren’t familiar with Waketoberfest, here’s a little bit of the event’s history in Austin.  Waketoberfest was founded on Lake Austin in 1999 by three Austinite’s passionate about water-sports and wake culture, and has been held rain or shine on Lake Austin, and more recently, Lake Travis every year since.  The attendance keeps growing and the expectations for this year are especially high.  Waketoberfest is a lake community event meant to bring outdoor enthusiasts together to celebrate all board sports including wakeboarding, skating, and surfing.
The event will be held on October 20th through the 23rd with the majority of events happening on Saturday, October 22nd.  People attending can expect to participate in a hodgepodge of board-sport competitions or just hang out on the beach and enjoy a cold beverage and live music.  Persons attending Waketoberfest will also have an otherwise exclusive opportunity to demo different boards from 2012 product lines provided by national board companies.
The schedule of events will run as follows.  Thursday and Friday will be boat demo days at Canyon Lake Marina with Thursday set up for the Wounded Warrior Company. Friday is open for anyone wanting to catch a ride in a new MasterCraft, Supra, Moomba, Nautique, or Tige. Local sponsors, including Sailors Lakeside Grille, will be open and running a variety of specials.  Austin 360 Wakeboard Club will be hosting a surf competition, womens wakeboard, and double up contest. Saturday’s events will include:  juniors cable, women’s cable, biggest trick, a winch contest, and stand up paddle. Attendees will have the opportunity to compete themselves as well as watch pro-level riders. The different levels of competition make this event relevant to all ages, so bring the whole family!
The founders of Waketoberfest are ardent about making this event valuable to the community, so this year they will be introducing the first Friday night casino and charity auction.  Prizes will be donated from local sponsors and the proceeds will go towards raising money for Wounded Warrior Project and Central Texas Red Cross.
