2011 RAT Skateboard Tour Fall Series
August 23, 2011 – DALLAS, TX - The Fall leg of the 2011 Scion RAT Skate Tour will kick-off on Saturday, October 8th at the Brushy Creek Skate Park in Cedar Park, TX. (just North of Austin). The event will feature some of the top amateur skaters in the region competing in street and bowl competitions for over $2500 in cash and prizes.
“We are very excited to bring this series to the Brushy Creek Skatepark,” said tour organizer Bill Geiger. “This will be our first trip to the facility and feedback from the skate community has been very positive – they like what this park has to offer!”
The Fall series also includes events in San Antonio and Dallas. In addition to the skate competition, every RAT event is a mini-lifestyle festival featuring live art created on-site by local artists in the Sector 9 Inspiration Station, music from DJ’ Dr. Dubist presented by Skullcandy , free drinks and swag from the Monster Energy Team, vendor displays and tons of chances to win great prizes from local skate shops and series sponsors.
Stop #4 of the RAT Tour is made possible with support from Scion and local dealer Round Rock Scion, Monster Energy Drink, Cricket Wireless, Skullcandy, Spy Optic, Skateboarder Magazine, Sector 9, Element Skateboards, Already Been Chewed, Neff Headwear, Theeve Trucks and Sk8te Skins. Additional support provided by local skate shops including The District, Apparition, No Comply, Fast Forward, Rukus and Capitol Skatepark.
“The series has really grown since we started in 2009,” said Geiger. “We have had great support from our partners and the level of skating is insane…lot’s of talent in the southwest!”
The event is FREE for spectators. On-line registration for riders is just $15.00 and will secure a spot in the competition. Registration is $20 on day of event. Action is scheduled to start at 12 noon. Competitors can register on-line at www.SkateTheRat.com.
