Competitve Wakesurf Association (CWSA) Forms Governing Body for Wakesurfing
As with every new sport, the coming of age process can take years to establish a governing body that acts in the best interest of the sport from the perspective of the riders and industry professionals that make it all possible. Thanks to a handful of industry leaders, wakesurfing now has the Competitive Wakesurf Association with the following mission:
The mission of the CWSA is to help promote the sport of wake surfing, provide recommended consistent and fair standards governing wake surfing events and tournaments, and to provide effective communication regarding wake surfing events and significant issues of interest to stake holders in the wake surfing industry
If you are a Riders or person with vested interest in the direction of competitive wakesurfing, you should click over to the CWSA website and participate in feedback to help get the competitive side of wakesurfing where it needs to be to support the expected growth of the sport in the coming years.
Some words from the CWSA:
A consortium of stake holders and advocates for the sport of wake surfing from throughout the US have formed a non-profit corporation that would like to create a recommended set of fair and consistent guidelines for judging and scoring of wake surf competitions.
This non-profit corporation, Competitive Wake Surf Association, Inc. (CWSA) recognizes that the riders and stakeholders in the wake surf industry have valuable experience and knowledge that should be considered when recommending judging and scoring criteria for wake surf competitions.
