Preliminary Results from the World Wakesurfing Championship: 10 Year Old Raleigh Hager Takes the Title
Every year the wakesurfing season is capped off by the World Wakesurfing Championships and a showcase of the best wakesurfing in the world. The finals were yesterday in Parker, AZ and just last the last three years, it was another re defining moment for the sport and the riders pushing the progression. Each year the competition is getting bigger and better and new faces are appearing on the podium. This year was no different and 10 year old Austin, TX native Raleigh Hager stole the show by taking the open womens surf title against a field of veteran pro riders. Raliegh has only been surfing a couple seasons but already stamping her name in the history of wakesurfing.
Other divisions were rounded out by the Flegel brothers with Noah winning open skim and Keenan laying down a surf style run that gave him his first title in the surf division.
James Walker took second in open surf and Aaron Witherall took second in Open Skim with 6 time champion Drew Danielo taking 3rd. Check back for the official results and more pics and video from the event.
