Wakesurfing First Look: Is Surf Gate Technology from Malibu Boats a Fresh Maker or Hype Machine?

We have all heard the hype about the game changing Surf Gate Technology from Malibu Boats and what this means for wakesurfing. To date, the technology has been met with mixed reviews but as more and more evidence surfaces, we are beginning to drink the Surf Gate Kool Aid around here at the Tank. From our perspective, the question is more about what Surf Gate can do to get the most people trying and enjoying wakesurfing and less about making the biggest wave that only pro riders (we can count them on one hand) can enjoy and actually surf.

In the spirit of turning the most people on to wakesurfing and helping the sport propel to an even larger market than wakeboarding and wakeskating combined, we take a look at the following video. The caption appears to be in French and we have no idea who these rider are but what grabs our attention is the ease at which these non pro riders can transition from one side of the boat to the other and literally watching the wave clean up in 3 seconds or less.
